I started doing one side of the car today, and this stuff is a little tricky.

It says on the can to put it on heavy enough to get a good, wet coat. It doesn't stay in place while it's drying that well, but I think went too heavy with it at first. I'm doing the trim while it's on the car, and it won't stay at the top edge of the trim, it's all running down the angled parts of the trim and forming big globs, and everything at the top edge is piling up at the bottom edge. But like I said, that's my own fault.

I'll say this though, it peels off really easily! But not to a fault, it sticks REALLY well. I can't see any issues with it chipping, ever. It literally comes off like the consistency of a rubber glove. It literally took me 5 minutes to peel it all off, and I got each section off in one continuous piece, so don't be mad if you fuck up the first time!

I'm probably not even going to bother masking the other side, the overspray literally rubs/peels off. But the areas you want it to stay in will stay stuck for good, as long as you don't peel it up. This mod is 100% reversible.

One more thing, it also looks really thin when it first goes on, so don't get to worried about it not looking right. It darkens up as it dries.

true, but if your painting on your car, make sure the surface is scratch free and chip free because I sanded my spoiler really good and it looked nice and flat, but once I got a few layers on i noticed that any imperfections that were their seemed to become more noticeable. also, this stuff is super easy to use, just spray and your good.

Last time I got some, about 8 bucks or so. It is rubber so doesn't really chip and a few thin layers will prevent peeling. I used to cover so much stuff at my old job with that stuff.

Bought 3 cans today, got it at Home Depot. Gonna do all the stuff I mentioned above on my car, and a few things on my pickup.

Can you paint over it? I'd like to do my kidneys to get rid of the chipped SEM look that has to be redone every couple months, but at the same time there is so much SEM trim black on my car I want to make it match. So I'm thinking perhaps a coat or three of the palasti-dip followed by a few coats of SEM and that way when it chips it will show black?

I'm going to do my side moldings, and the trim around my front and rear windshields, too.

Someone do a dashboard and shift/center consoles.

be careful when removing the tape if you dont remove the trim from the car. remember its rubber and will form a bond with the tape. it peels and will pull off of the trim with the tape. the e39 thread recommended cutting between the trim and tape. trim, tape. trim. tape.

Dude, fucking sweet. I've been wanting to shadowline my car for ages, but I've always been paranoid of it chipping.

Looks like most people are saying it doesn't chip at all. I'm doing mine this weekend.
