    bumper tucks

Just finished tucking the bumpers on my 84' 318i. Its so worth the 3 hours. Job went easily overall. Drilled out the shock oil, squeezed the shock down, the reinstalled.:o

3 hours? Did you turn the drill bits by hand?

    Looks better. Now lower it.

I just don't get why people pull the bumpers.

          Drill, squirt, squish, done.

          Closing SOON!

While we are on topic is there a way to "untuck?"

Original owner tucked the rear and I would like it come out a slight bit more.

lol, yeas, decompress shocks evenly, or go get new shocks at the junk yard and plug them in.

I love the look of tucked in diving boards, so

remove the trim and go at the bumper with a BFH

                OP, looks better, lower it

Tried a crowbar? After you get them where you want them pop a small self tapping screw in to hold them in place.

yeah, I did the surrounds also. The paint isnt a perfect match but damn close. looks ten times better than the black that was on there. Had to trim the rear surounds as the fender well on the pre 88 models(I think 88) is slightly larger. Suspension next!

no. take off the bumper, then remove shocks. drill a hole in the side of the shock near the top. then compress to drain out all remaining fluid. Once all the fluid is out, the shocks will stay compressed. Its really pretty easy. Just remember to wear shitty clothes as your are going to get sprayed with oil.
