I plasti-dipped my Mirrors and rockers. (56k wtf is the point?)

So I grabbed a few cans of mirical in a can, and went to work, these are the first of many projects to come.

So first i prepped everything with a red scotch brite pad and masked everything off. Then I used wax and adhesive remover.

You can see how bad my rockers were

Then I sprayed on two thin coats and one wet coat and let it cure for a while, grabbed a razor and removed the paper-tape madness. The result was really great.

I did my mirrors in a similar fashion. I just masked the glass after washing and sanding the mirror body. Then i sprayed on a few coats, and tada! Awesome.

I also swapped in some black door pulls and pockets, and did a couple of things to the interior. All in all not a terrible car right?

    Thanks for looking

    Brian

      Your steering wheel is crooked.

      Is it a smooth finish?

It still has the original wrinkle finish from the under coat but other than that it looks like a satin-ish finish.

Do you have any experience with SEM trim paint?

Yeah, I SEM'd the trim on my black car a few years ago. It works pretty well, but this stuff isn't supposed to chip, and it seems pretty tough.

Awesome I had this in the back of my mind because I have a new fender coming in and I wanted to redo the whole rockers since they're getting bad. Was "mirical in a can" because it was that good or because that's what it was called?

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

The stuff you did on the door handles is going to wear off in no time flat.

                          Everything else looks great.

And before everyone goes asking a million-and-a-half questions about PlastiDip in this thread, there's a whole thread about it already in this same forum.

I didn't do the handles. Im going to use SEM for that, they are still pretty black though, so they can wait for now.

I'm impressed! I enjoy seeing small touches like this made on cars.

Everyone should take note...little things like that really go a long way.
