    valance

I picked up a junkyard front valance for my '89 and the lower portion of it is pretty good but the top part is rusty.. when I looked in BMW parts ETK it showed the valance as just the lower section (from bumper-down) and BTW that part alone cost 200 bucks, anyway it is kinda spot welded onto the top section of the valance so i figured i'd cut off the rusty top section and just pop-rivet the lower section to my current upper section. I grinded off all the rivet-spot weld thingies (dont know what they are called) and cleaned up everything.
It all looks ok, but i was wondering if anybody else has done it this way, what luck has anybody had using pop rivets to mount it, etc..
Like i said it looks like this is the way to install the factory replacement anyway.

also, does anybody have any good ideas for removing this urethane on my rockers? the car had glue-on ground-effects crap that i didnt want, but after pulling them off i discovered a rusty fender and tons of urethane on the rockers
