Side Trim Clips - Did BMW Change the Clips?

Weird question - I pulled off my side trim - the one that runs along the front fender, door, and rear fender, and I ordered all new clips (51131876128 Qty 6, 51131829904 Qty 6). However, some of my existing clips (that broke) look different, and I don't see a part number for them. Basically it looks like BMW used to have a peg that mounted into the trim piece and popped into a hole in the fender (separate of the one physically that is part of the molding). Am I missing a clip, or did BMW change how these are mounted?

These clips are in place of the one that "slides" on now. I can include some pictures if that helps.

This is specific to my rear fender trim - basically it looks like the clips there are the same as the ones on the front fender (one fixed peg and one movable peg), but in looking further, I don't think this is correct - I'm not sure how this clip ended up in that trim, but if anyone can confirm, that would be a huge help!
