Mtech 1 Doors Pods / Panels Questions...

    Hey guys,

I don't know much about the Mtech options for our cars but I think I've figured out that Mtech 1 was for the early year metal bumper cars and the Mtech 2 for the later year cars, right?

I want to install some Pods or Panels (not sure what they're called) onto my '84 325e Coupe. I have many questions:

Do I have to install the Mtech Side Skirts with them or can I install with out the Skirts?
    Will Mtech 2 Pods fit?
Any one have an opinion about the ones 'Race On USA' sells?
'Race On USA' sells them without mounting hardware. Can I buy just the hardware from somewhere?

Bottom line, I want to install Pods onto my car and I have now idea how they are attached.

Any help would be great. Thanks guys.

Yes tech one is for metal bumper and tech two is for plastic.
Raceonusa's Skirts and pods DO NOT FIT!!.
If you want them OEM is the only way to go.
You dont have to install the tech two skirts with the tech two pods, but you will want some type of skirt with them.

Mtech I was for early year euro-bumpered cars, and only available in not-the-united-states. Mtech II was for plastic-bumpered cars and available everywhere.

You can install them without the skirts, but they'll look like crap. Mtech I does not have "pods", if by pods you mean the panels that go on the bottom third of the door and quarter panels. Thus, you'll be installing Mtech II pods if anything, but I recommend that you don't.

Generally regarded as crap. I've seen a few installs of Raceon kits, but they took a lot of bodywork (fiberglass and bondo) to get them to look right. The side bits that Raceon sells are about half an inch too long, as well, and nearly unusable without aforementioned bodywork.

Good luck. I'm not sure why you would want to install only side pods.

I like them, but they will look goofy without the rest of the kit, esp. the skirts that go under them.
