hey guys, new to the board here- thought i'd share this with you- I recently bought my friend's '88 325 IS and right away i had work to do just to be able to look at it everyday and not cringe. The front bumper license plate bracket was missing and i hate running a front plate anyway, so.....I went to see my good friend at Hotrod Garage in Martinez, Ca. named Randy. We popped off my front bumper, and fabricated a front license plate block-off plate that mimics the front black rubber bumper trim and makes the front black bumper trim just flow across the front of the car. It attaches from inside the bumper while it's off the car. It's made of sheet metal that we folded, then welded nuts onto tabs that we spot welded onto the plate. Painted in satin black, it came out great. here's some pics of the build and what it looked like after.

Nice work. The front license space is definitely an area that needs attention. I Paid almost $25 for a crappy piece of plastic from BMP. Are you planning to make anymore?sigpic

thanks guys- i doubt he'll make anymore- that's my friend's shop. the place is fuckin' amazing. we wrench on old traditional hotrods there. I built a 1928 Ford Model A roadster pickup hotrod there. here's a link to pics of the inside of that shop and some of the whips we've worked on there.....
