    Small bumper conversion

What is involved with taking the diving boards off and updating to the later E30 bumpers. I looked around and couldn't find what I wanted. I just want to know what parts are required and how difficult it would be.
    Thanks

I've heard that the front bumper isn't too bad on a pre-87. I've also heard that the rear won't even fit without major modification. True?

as far as i know the front is direct swap but the rear takes a bit more. You either
        1) Cut the ends off the bumper and make your own end caps ala jordan
        2) Split the diff and your car looks like ass.

im considering it but i dunno if bronzit would be a good color for the mtech1.....i would rather go late model bumpers....something like trents car(amazing car) that makes the bronzit actually look good....well the color scheme he used black and bronzit!

Get some Euro bumpers. It'll give it a nice classic look.

To have the bumper conversion done, its about 18-25 hours of labor. Figure $65/hr is normal shop rate for bodywork. Figure $1500 or so.

He did it himself. He's not your average bmw modder.

Ah, my mistake. I figured that was the case after I reread your post after I had responded. I don't believe he had a parts car. I'm bought used or from a junk yard like most of us.

Not cheap. A friend and I picked up just the rear bumper with shocks, carrier, etc.. from a junkyard in my area for somewhere around $160 in perfect condition.
