    Cabrio/boot motor re engagement

Bought a cabrio recently and am thinking about bringing the power top back to life. In the meanwhile the boot motor was working but now it is not. When it did work it made a sound as if teeth were jumping. The manual says that once disengaged, as I did do this in the trunk, it needs to be attended by the dealer. I suppose that this is because of synchronization with the top motor. What I do I need to do to reset the boot motor working so I can take advantage of the boot locking mechanism. If I decide to go entirely manual I understand that some parts are needed to manually lock the boot. What is needed.
