Late model valance on early model e30 with "divingboards"

Hey guys, Im kinda new to this so forgive me if this is on the wrong thread...
Anyway, I was wondering if it was possible to fit a valance from a late model e30 on a early model one plus diving boards Im thinking about doing that conversion on my sedan with an is lip if its possible... I really dont care for the plastic bumpers unless its an M-tec kit ;)

Oh and pictures would be nice :)

You'll have to cut off your tow hooks also. But the front of the car will just look like an 1988 model when you are done. And you are one of the few people ive heard that want to keep their diving board bumpers.

Euro bumpers will fit on a US car. And DBFTW :) I love the tucked painted DB look, why I'm keeping mine.

Sorry if I'm in thread shitting or something. Figured it was ok since no one has said anything on this thread in a while... and this the result google gave me when I hit search. I'm on my phone and sort of pressed for time.

Anyway, what is the oldest an e30 can be so that one can fit the later model plastic bumpers on? I found an 89 but it has metal bumpers so that can't be right, I'm going tomorrow to look at it and get a vin number possibly but I'm trying to see if a bumper swap is do-able.

If its an 89 with metal, it should be a convertible. Plastic bumpers will bolt onto anything 88 and newer front and rear. 87 and older the front is bolt on and the back needs to be shortened. That is for coupes and sedans.

                          Thank you so much.

In that case I'll def call bullshit on that guy saying it's an 89 and I'll try and get a vin number and some pics for the awesome experts here on r3v.

Here's some from the ad...any ideas on what year it might be just from the pics? (I have a feeling I'm about to feel real dumb cause I didn't see something obvious)

Thats an 88. Plastics will bolt right on. Its possible someone put metals onto an 89... not likely though. And I didnt think any 89s slipped out with metals before the switchover.
