euro bumpers on a cabrio 87-90???

I went to go check out this car that i might be getting, its was suposed to be a 91 321i cabrio with only 87,000 miles. I turns out that its deff not a 91, its got diving boards and small tail lights, i havent been able to talk to the guy yet and see what the deal is tho....
Anyways, i know that i wont be able to put the short bumpers on(i think, correct me if im wrong), but would i be able to do euro bumpers? has anyone done this before?

Do you mean Plastic Bumpers, on E30's 1989-1991?
It's possible, people do it. But it does not bolt right up. It takes some fabrication to make it work. If that’s what you're talking about, swapping plastic bumpers onto a car with "diving board" bumpers (1984-1988), ask Jordan, he has done the swap.

Plastic bumpers swap onto cabrios really easy, although it is NOT as straight forward as swapping onto a 88 coupe.

All cabrios have the lower arches despite what tailights they have.

yes i am talking about the short plastic bumpers, and i know that it takes alot of work to make them fit, and im deff not ready to do something like that to the car.

what im saying is for instance:
say its and 89 cab, which has big bumpers and old front and rear valence.
now would i be able to put euro bumpers from the older bodystyle on it??
I dont want to tuck the reg diving boards, i have that done on my curent 84 and i dont really care for it.

didnt see what you wrote until i pressed enter on post, sry jorden

Jorden, What about the front valence and rear valence, does that swap out easy too??

Im not able to do all that much fabrications, to be honest, very little.. so i doubt that id be able to do a big project. How much easier is it on cabros than coupes?

..for the cabrio front bumper all you have to do is get the connectors for the parking lights/indicators and cut the tow hook off. For the rear you will need an aftermarket valence.

Make sure you get the bumper shocks for the plastic bumper too. Do you have a front valence? I have a black one for sale and I am in NJ  its from an 89 325i.
