The best mod for any engine is the driver mod. I'll run my M10 like hell for as long as I possibly can.

The m10t has been modified to put out 1500hp reliably. Does that qualify as "real power"?

I said the same thing, and it caused me my motor. So i recommend replacing a $10 belt than an engine.

Show me an s5x that makes 1500hp even in full race trim. Bmw doesn't have the balls to engineer shit like that anymore they're too concerned with "features" and profit margins on yuppie baby haulers.

i'd really love to see someone backup the claims that a m10 powered e30 out run a similiarly moded m20,m50,m30, which will never happen, because there is no replacment for displacment. the six cylinders will always be faster.

as for the op, turbo it and have fun, im just tired of seeing people say how fast a m10 is, when a honda hatch dx 1.6 auto can easily outrun one. if it were me, i'd throw the m10 in the trash and put a m5x/s5x in its place and have some real power.

Be original and consider keeping/souping up the M10.

There are a few e30's around here which are fast but not many and none I can think of with n/a m20's although I know they are out there it is not easily obtainable power.

Boosted m10's are good motors, they have a lot of potential and since it's already sitting in the car you might as well give it a shot!

Post a pic of the paint, it can probably be restored unless there are gouges or the like.

I buffed mine, I wish I had before pics. It really turned it around. Also there's a guy that posted a few pics of restored paint that he did with the Glosshaus system, he turned some shit paint into sparkly showroom paint.

That would be a good investment, if you don't know how to do it you can have it done for 2-300 bucks, maybe less. If you do know how to do it you can buy a buffer and compounds for that price.

    EDIT: Here's the thread... http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=167168
