anyone happen to have the Tint Tek 20/20 window auto outline in an .eps or .ai format for E30 say 88 325is - have my roll of tint, have my handy dandy plotter for sign and grpaihc work, just dont have the cut-pak outline files to do it pre-sized/pre-cut.

I think most purpling is from people using windex on tint, hopefully there is ammonia safe tint these days.

take the window off and spray the tint with windex, then cover it with newspaper and spray the newspaper with windex untill its dripping soggy wet, then wait about 24 hours making sure it stays wet every 6-10 hours and it will practically fall off the window.

I had to do this to my old supra when some ricer po had purple bubbly tint on the rear quarter windows only, it worked great.

I've noticed a lot of talk between percentages of tint but what about the quality in film? I had a car tinted not to long ago and the shit film came off.

I somehow doubt someone has gone through the trouble of creating a template.

Have you ever seen the pros apply tint? They size and cut the pieces on the windows facing the outside. Once that's done, they apply the tint and carefully razor the excess off the window.

Unless you have some experience doing this or don't mind having the tint later bubble or start peeling, you're better off just paying the pros to apply it. Removing it however is rather easy with a little elbow grease.

You bring up a good question. I had 3M ceramic applied to my front windows about 3 years ago and it's holding up real nicely with no bubbles or peeling of any sort. Same can be said for any top tier film, ie. Formula one, huberoptiks, 3M. It's not only the type of film, but also the worksmanship that goes into preparing the windows and applying it properly that matters.

I'm getting the 3M 80% all around because I hate Florida heat but love the fishbowl look on older cars, especially white like mine
