DIY: Homemade Euro-ish Grilles

Euro-ish Grilles Under $10
Yeah, I'm a cheapass, and here's another way of showing it.

Parts Needed:
1. Your stock US spec grilles.
2. Vinyl trim from Lowes. Item # 11936

It's $2.28 for 8' (freaking 8 feet) good enough for at least 2.5 sets.
3. 6 Bolts/screws, washers and nuts.

You'll be using these to clamp down brow to the grille. In most likelihood, you won't use washers or nuts, just bolts/screws.
4. Good epoxy/glue.

Tools Needed:
1. Dremel (rotary) tool with attachments.

2. Ruler and marker.

Procedure
I'll do it in pictures with explanations of what's happening.

1. Start with your grilles. Clean them really well.

Take a ruler. Space between kidney and first headlight is ~9". I measured out 3" from the kidney and mark.

Space between headlights is ~4". I measured 2" and marked it.

Last mark is all the way on the outside of the grille. You get only about 1/4" to place a hole.

2. Cut trim to size. Live 1" overhang on each side.

I used dremel cutting wheel.

3. Hold trim onto the grille.

Beginning from the kidney side, with a dremel drill first hole, and put bolt/screw in. Tighten it.

The other hole you're seeing is where my eye-brows were mounted. Don't create extra holes.

Now holding trim tight against the grille drill second hole and put bolt/screw in. Do same for the third.

4. Using dremel cut trim to grille's shape.

5. This step is up to you. Three screws hold trim on very well, but you can epoxy trim on.

6. Paint and install.

Ghetto eyebrows or not, they look great and give a TINY bit more "eyebrow" effect over the Euro grills themselves. I'll definately follow this on the 4 pairs of extra head light grills I have floating around the garage.

if i wanted euro grills that bad id just order them, or get eye brows. euro grills are to subtle imo.

quick tip the guy at lowes had different piece of trim with the same part number so when you pick the trim up just look for the one in the picture. Also don't use dremel to cut it just use scissors works just fine.

here's an old pic of mine. I used those black clips meant for wall posters. They fit perfectly, just cut to size and they clip right on. I used a couple dabs of silicone to make sure they stayed.
