    antenna ideas?

i wanna ditch the power antenna in my car....i was thinking of going with a short one like off of a honda s2000 or the new bmw's there nice....or i was thinking of relocating it to my roof kinda like a Vdub....suggestions??

They sell a kit that reloactes the antenna to the front of the roof just like the M3. In fact, I'm pretty sure it uses an M3 antenna. Bav Auto and BMP both sell it, as I'm sure lots of other places do too. You will have to have the hole for the stock antenna filled and painted afterwards though.

If Im not mistaken that sounded like a big pain in the ass... I think it was Jordan that said the windshield and rear window had to be removed for access to the headliner. I don't know for sure if this goes for just accessing the front part, but I'd be willing to guess it does (removing the windshield).

Maybe PM Jordan for more info

stop spreading misinformation, the front headliner comes off very easily, pull off the sun visors (4 screws) and a buncha screws that hold down the top of the headliner (access through sunroof) and peel back a little of the door trim and a pillar cover. Tools needed: one #2 phillips screwdriver
                  c'mon guys

make sure you have a quality body shop do this mod. the PO of my project car did it really poorly. this is what it looks like from the outside

and this is what it looks like from the inside...

plus the hole they drilled for the antenna on top was rusting as well because they didn't finish it after drilling.

anyone know if the Z3, Z4 or e36 antennas connect to the existing antenna wiring in our cars?... i've been eyeing those for a while & have thought about trackin one down in a junkyard & testin that theory out
