I'm removing my exterior trim on a 86 325es and I had a bitch of a time getting the fender trim off. The bentley manual and all of the internet seems to imply its just a matter of prying it off. I managed to get one off but broke a bit of it in the process and now the clip nearest to the front is quite loose and I'm not sure how I would properly reattach it. It looked like it had one of the retaining bolts that you unscrew from the door and rear trim so I'm confused how I could have pried it off without damaging anything. Any tips on what I should be doing differently? Pictures would be super helpful.
