    Plug the hole! (Antenna delete)

Well after searching the forums (briefly) I came to the conclusion that people delete their antennae(?) but don't seem to have a universal (cheap) fix for the hole left behind in the 1/4 panel. Some people use parts off other cars and some use hardware store parts. Well neither of these worked for me so I just ordered a bunch of nylon hole plugs.

The 13/16" plug is nearly perfect. Too bad 13/16" is not an extremely common size at most hardware stores (or online for that matter, unless you want to buy 10,000 of them at a time). I ended up ordering a shitload of them not realizing that I was doing so (I knew the price was a little steep for just 3 of those things).

End result, buy a 13/16" nylon hole plug and dab the underside with your favorite sealant (from inside the car). I've had mine on for a few days now with no leaks or anything. The look is passable as somewhat factory as well.

(excuse how shit my car looks ATM its been raining for days)

If anyone wants one of these without having to order a bunch or going through the hassle of finding them single then PM me. I have nearly 100 of them.

    EDIT

Make sure you give some extra love to the spot where the antenna grommet was, it leaves a ring on the paint (you can still see it in mine) that you can work most of the way off if you try.

Very nice man, I made one for mine and capped it with a beer bottle cap lol, I forgot to use sealant for the other side and I lost it one day on the highway.

          PM'd.

You know I didn't realize paypal charged such a ridiculous amount for using their service until I started receiving payments for less than $5. Holy shit.

That's what the gift function (non CC) is for. I'm interested in a few. Send me a PM. How easy/hard would it be to paint these to match?

              PM'd

They are made of nylon, very similar to plastic. It has a fine texture finish on the exterior and I think it would be possible to lightly sand them smooth and paint them. I'll take one tomorrow and try it and post the results. Once its smooth though it would just be a matter of priming/painting. I don't think nylon of this nature expands and contracts that much with temperature so it should take paint just fine.

PM'd. I have one of these in primer and as soon as I find some paint in my shop I'm gonna hammer some color on it and post pics.

                  Thanks everybody.

if you are going to paint them, i'd use some bulldog adhesion promoter.... or nothing will stick very long.

Yes, adhesion promoter is the way to go for sure.

Anyone get a chance to try these out yet? Comments? Just wondering, lol.

Thanks for the interest in these so far, I got quite a few more if anyone needs them.
