Jordan asked after I spent 4k on a paint job why I didn't shave the side markers and front and rear markers like jonsku's perfect example. I chose not to as I wanted to retain visibility. My state has a large proportion of intoxicated idiots driving lifted trucks with less than optimal vision.

Most e30's I see here in the junk yard that aren't timing belt victims have had their back end crunched just above the rear bumper.

Mine is shaved, but I know that if i get rear fucked by somebody who actually has insurance, I will have to fight to win as I removed the brake light.

It is a tough decision. I would score a couple of extra trunk lids and get them sprayed too. Then you can mix and match as your mood fits. You can swap out the trunk lid if you make some weatherpack connections for the light. You will need the little module from the light either way to stop the check panel light from staying on.

I have one with the spoiler and one without. I don't like the 3rd brake light on my black mt2, but I would get rear ended for sure without it. In the white car I am not as worried about such things.

My white car is pissing me off. Damn vacuum leak. I got the car back from the exhaust shop today. Stupid IE headers, they are crap. I am buying the RD e30 m20 headers from Carl on this site as soon as he gives me the final shipped total. I can't wait to have this thing running properly.
Not sure why you think the third brake light is so crucial. My third brake light has been out for at least a month, I've been fine. Unless your regular brake lights are super dim due to some ridiculous tint on your tails, I doubt you will have much of a problem.

I just asked my supplier to find an Italian. Let's see if that complicates your decision.

^^ OMG that's the car! I parked next to you at the picnic. I'm honestly in love with that thing, it's a work of art. The color, the interior, even the wheels...It's all perfect.

No spoiler, rear headrests, no 3rd brake light, nothing but net. Anxious to see how you build this one up, Rob. Someday we might actually meet in person, too. :)

my vote is for the M tech 1 just because it extends the look of the trunk further compared to the regular e30 rear spioler..."I was thinking of shaving the 3rd brake lights on my vert too"!

I concur with Levent that an Italian (3rd) brake light M-tech II rear spoiler would work well with an M-tech II vert with a shaved decklid brake light. Particularly because the tech IIs have US sidemarkers front and rear; might as well embrace the look and added safety of all those extra lights ;)

But, since a re-spray is in my future, I'm considering shaving the sidemarkers along with the 3rd brake light and adding a regular M-tech II wing. Then I'd basically be emulating Jonsku's car, minus the side repeaters and all that bad-ass drivetrain work, etc...
