M-technic II Cabrio with trunk spoiler - Aye or Nay?

I doubt you'll get pulled over for the lack of a third brake light. That would be the first thing to go on my hypothetical vert.Leave a comment:

I have gone with Mtech1 in the rear and maybe I will add Jack's splitter. The Mtech2 is just a little too big for me. For now I have the third tail light but I will pick up an early trunk lid without one before the final paint goes on for a smoother look. Here's a picture of the rear of my car.

This car is a great example of how well the M-Tech II looks with the "wart" removed from the truck lid. This really makes the body flow nice & smooth - it's set off by the stance, which is spot on.
If your going to add a wing spoiler, then I feel the M-Tech 1 keeps that flow going fairly smoothly & is balanced by the lip spoiler on the front.
(disclaimer added - the 3rd brake light was mandated by the Feds & could be the source for a "fix it" ticket to replace the "wart". If you kept your OEM deck lid & replaced it with any coupe/sedan lid, then it's an easy "fix it". If you removed the brake light & did a weld/fill/paint on the OEM trunk deck, it gets more involved & more expensive.)
Think of it this way, how many of you have 2 or more sets of wheels?
Having 2 truck decks isn't that bad !!!!Leave a comment:

Thanks for adding this pic. It represents well for the no-spoiler proponents. I didn't include options for keeping or deleting the 3rd brake light, but, in my case, it's a given that it will be shaved either way. Thanks for all the feedback.Leave a comment:

If it were a sedan then sure but it's a tough call on a convertible. I think if you delete the 3rd brake light then a spoiler is more tolerable but if you stick with the original trunk it looks out of place. The lower profile MT1, S and bottom half of MT2 look good because they are subtle and don't block too much of the brake light. I didn't want to drill any holes in my original trunk so for now I am spoilerless. I also have an M tech 1 & 2 rear spoiler sitting in my garage lol...just incase.Leave a comment:

And, just to complicate things a bit more... You can use just the lower part of the mtech2 spoiler, without the 'wing' section. I'd love to see pics of how that looks too.
I'm in the same boat as all you other guys, can't decide if I want a spoiler or not
Rear headrests are also tits and make any wing look better IMO, kind of breaks up the heavy beltline of the car and makes any spoiler look less out of place. I love cactusjacks MT1, and I love Jonsku's MT2... decisions decisions.Leave a comment:

Bro im in the same situation! I got a MtechII boot spoiler & Im buying a MtechI also. I like the look that the mtech one provides on the cabby cuz its more clean cut and subtle. the mtech two on a cabby seems out of place with the rag top on.. just my 2 cents. But when top down the Mtech II spoiler is ballin. Decisions. Decisions.Leave a comment:
