Plug and play. It is not a separate trunk light. The extra window allows the parking light bulb to light up the trunk area as well as the tail light so the light switch must be on for you take advantage...

Back in the 90's...885 i heads were expensive and ETA's were the poor man's 325. So if we got our hands on a 325i cam or Schrick we could boost power by modding the ETA head and upgrading the valve springs....

A simple way would be to use a dipstick with an oil drain back port. I can't remember which model it came from though....
