    Paint or replace exhaust tip?

The exhaust tip on my 92' 318iC is a bit rusted, but looks to be surface. I'm either going to just spray it with black spray paint or replace it. If I go the route of replacing the tip/muffler. Are there any good suggestions for tips/mufflers?

My exhaust tip on my 318is looked all crapped out. I took a type of sand paper (called shark tooth) or something along the lines of that, its used to clean up the ends of copper pipe. I sanded off all the crap on my exhaust tip. Now its clean, and shiny. My friends thought I bought an exhaust system....when all I did was clean my tip.

try sanding the rust off, it my look better. If you dont like the silver look, hit it with the spray paint.

mine was faded and dirty, so i just cleaned it off and sprayed the muffler/tips and the spare tire well flat black. it looked "different" at first, but now its grown on me and im glad i did it.

Went ahead and sanded off the rust with sand paper and a dremel. It looked horrible before, there was no silver showing through and rust all over, but now it looks great, just need to do a little touch up. What should I put on it to stop it from rusting again?
