How does everyone attach US plate to Touring/euro filler plate

Brought my touring home today (Yes I do love saying that) and I'm wondering what everyone else has come up with to mount their US rear license plate. The PO had drilled holes in his to mount it but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. Right now I just have it put up in the rear window but that's far from a permanent solution. Anyone have pics?

Does it not fit or is it mounting hole issues?

If it's the latter, my car came on some industrial strength double-sided tape, and that thing stuck like a mofo. It also pulled off clean when I got it off.

just like any other e30 you have to drill matching holes on the plate filler. Not sure why you car if the plate filler has 4 new small holes... they will be covered up the plate.

Sorry, I meant he drilled holes in the license plate. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely missing something. I have no problem drilling small holes and using short self tapping screws in them.

Don't drill new holes... just make a bracket (like the one for front
plates). Thats what I did, it works well and if you want to mount
a euro plate in the back (for a show)all you have to do is swap
          brackets/plates

And if you do drill new holes, use factory hardware to attach the plate.
          Don't use self taping screws...

I thought about the bracket thing. I think I'll make something up. I'm just concerned about drilling through the filler plate into the hatch.
