    lacquer thinner

I'm assuming that not all lacquer thinners are the same....in that case what kind should I use when reducing SEM trim paint for my HVLP sprayer. I have a couple gallons of the home depot crap lying around, but thats basically for using lacquer finishes on wood products. I would imagine there are car paint grades for this kind of stuff....

    any suggestions?

If you are using automotive grade paint, you need what is referred to as "reducer". It comes in different grades of "flash" which dictates the speed at which it cures or "flashes".

Dont use laquer to thin it, unless is says to on the can. Read it and see what the base is. SEM makes their own reducer also, should've been right next to the paint.

I have shot SEM "color coat" straight out of the quart in my POS HVLP guns.

                  Cleaned up with lacquer thinner.
