    Black Side Marker.

I am sure tons of people have posted this but just for the hell of it i am going to post this.

So today i was cleaning the garage and found a spare amber side marker and decided to get out the black paint and sand paper and so i scuffed up the yellow area and sprayed about 3 coats letting it sit after each coat and letting it dry to reduce running and here is the result.

Total time was roughly 10 minutes
    Cost: $0

    Opinions?

Should i do the other side too?

Also this is not transparent and i myself dont really care all that much.

Yeppers got that right and it is very ez to do

heck i bet even a 3 yr old could do this.

You can tell in the last picture showing the marker that barely even any light gets through.

            looks good.

i like the way it looks when its lit up. when i did mine i had the old sidemarkes,
when lit, mine looked like shit, all blotchy. looks good.
like rayz said, paint the bumper trim and it'll look even better.

Im going to replace it since the 16 years the car was in california the sun pretty much ruined alot of the trim on it.

Tonight i replaced the outer window seal on the driver side since it was dry and had a hole in it and now i need a peice for the passanger side.

Even the BMW logo is still perfectly visible right down to the lettering so yeah it doesnt take very much sanding just a little scuff thats all

I put (don't laugh too hard) 2 Electric tape cut-to-fit strips on each side marker on my car. I disconnected the bulbs..and it looks pretty good and has held up 3 months now. :) In the mnean time I need to purchase a used set of 86-91 side markers so I can send them to nick to install the smode sidemarker lenses. 8)

Take a look at my link of my car pics below to see...

P.S. Super Eta: I recently purchased all new plastic trims on my car a month following my restoration. The front 2 pieces cost $340 and the rears were $440..don't buy new ones like that..esp if you are saving for a re-spray. Get the respray first then save up and get the new bmw trim mouldings

Go to a honda dealership, check if they have any molding restoration stuff. It's in a mid-sized tubed and has all japanese writing. I don't know the name since it's in japanese, but that stuff works GOOD. My dad had to order 1 new molding (old one was dented) and since the old ones stuck out so much, hu rubbed some of this in and everything looked as good as new.
