    Rear Valence Exhaust Cut Out

Planning on taking the car in and getting my new muffler put on that I've had for months now. I have a 318iS and as you know, the cut out for the exhaust tips is big enough for 1.

So my question is, will the place I'm taking it (Muffler King) be able to cut the rear valence and make it big enough for my dual outlet muffler, or will that be something I need to do ahead of time?

    Thanks

I wouldn't count on them doing it. I mean, have you asked them if they would?
I'll go out on a limb here and assume they won't do it most likely because they want to be responsible ONLY for what they normally do, which is installing your muffler. Should they cut too much off your valence (or break it, or damage it somehow) they would become liable for it.
Then again, maybe that particular shop is experienced with cutting body parts and such, and willing to do it for you. I guess it all boils down to if they feel comfortable enough doing it without damaging anything.
In any case, it does not appear as too hard of a task with the right tools, just remember if you pull it off, you can feel proud about it, but if you mess it up, you'll have no one to blame other than yourself.

Luke are you talking about when I asked this same question a few months ago? Been real lazy about it and getting it done haha. Put new wheels/tires on the car so I'm a bit more motivated to finish putting on the parts I have.

Most likely just going to do tin snips on it myself.

Trace a stock outline from a late model, cut it out of cardboard. Cut your hole in the same place, but 1/4" smaller, then use a heat gun to let you roll it back without destroying the paint so bad.
