    M3 windshield swap

Can you directly swap an M3 windshield with gasket into a non-m e30? The M3 windshield is bonded so what do you use to bond it if dimensionally it fits? Just curious since I have my windshield out. Thanks guys

It might be possible and I think that you might be able to put a windshield from a non m car into an m3. But why would you want to put a bonded windshield in your car? Its a lot more hassle and requires more expertise to install. And you would use windshield urethane to bond it.

i don't think its really doable. the non-m's don't have the proper shape to give you a surface to bond it to.
I don't always wreck cars, but when I do I wreck them into trees.

^ Yeah, I recall a thread where the poster said he had to add material to the lip to allow a surface for the glass to bond to.

hmm... I thought it was an easier swap. That sucks. I know the M3 windshield is flatter but I thought the mounting was easier. I thought M3 guys could run non0m windshields if they cheeped out. I get a free windshield so I just need to pull the trigger one way or the other. Anyone know a definite one way or the other.

You do the swap because the M3 windshield is loaded and stiffens the front end
