    Valence fitment issue

I'm having an issue installing the es valence I recently bought. My car is originally a straight 1987 325. Is the metal valence different between the models? It seems lime it is too short. It falls like an inch + in front of the curvature of the wheel area. The cutout for the fogs is resting straight against the metal of the valence. Any thoughts?

So you're trying to put a later model valance on an 1987 car? Or you're trying to put the iS valance from the 1987 year onto your car...?

No. It is an es valence going on a 325 car. Valence is 87 or before.

The 84-85 cars did have a different sheetmetal valance than the 86-87 cars.

Are you trying to mount the eS airdam using OEM mounts? Since your car is an 87 it should be a direct fit.

I am using stock mounting locations, but i had to make my own brackets. These are not the issue though. The valence is physically touching the sheetmetal, but short on the sides. The cutouts for the fogs dont line up between the plastic and sheetmetal. Like the fogs are resting against the aheetmetal, not fitting through it. Ill post a pic when i get home. I wonder if someone put an older piece of sheetmetal on the car?

            See attached.

Notice in the 1st shot how the protrusion for the fog on the plastic valence hits the metal?

It looks like someone possibly cut the sides of the valance

Yep, the sides have been trimmed short.

Yeah. I sorta figured that. Probably mounted on an earlier car as I understsand their dimensions were a bit different. Awesome. *sigh* Guess I will be making something. Anyone good with fiberglass? :D
