im no expert but i'm pretty sure ford and gm didn't spray paint the valves too.

OP, good luck getting that to seal properly.

As long as the paint doesn't contact the valve stems.. it can come off with Lacquer thinner. yes a couple might have some on the seats. Again I'm debating whether I am going to disassemble it. but it doesn't hurt the valve ports. the heat and fuel will likely burn it off in time. As long as the valves seat and the stems move freely everything else is cool.

I think the block could have been red and the head um not painted. I like aluminum it looks good.

I am with you on this. but I wasn't me who did the job. Some other shlep.
the head isn't fastened down yet. So I am going to take it this morning to a machine shop to get it inspected to make sure everything is good before proceeding.

Yeah block would look good red and head aluminum also is a good combination.

                  thanks for the input fellas..

looks good though ceeker. went for german flag i see it. i think you should put the german flag somewhere on the valvecover to tie it all together. otherwise it looks like just mcdonalds theme parts

I have a sticker for the grille somewhere. but yeah that would be a good idea. otherwise I would have to get the golden arches stuck on somewhere. I also cleaned up the intake ports and gasket surfaces along with the valve stems so it should be all good going together. I had it checked by my machinist and he says it's a go!

Here are some more pics as I assemble...
Strangely enough nobody mentioned that I was missing a tab on the front of the timing sprocket. the A-HOLE that did the powder coat must have dropped it. Won't be going back to him again. Luckily I was able to pull one off my spare.

Well the main stuff is on and secured. Tomorrow, the intake, therm house, bolt up the wiring harness, the a/c bracket. more pics to follow.

I still need to finish up the lower part of the engine area; as I am waiting on control arms and figured it's easier to fasten the inner ball joint nut down while the engine mounts are out of the way. one mount was broken so I removed the brackets and got them also powdered black. Crossing fingers I get them in the next day or so.

I am not going to show you every valve going into the head etc. As for your comments about the holes? Maybe you should thoroughly read my post. READING DOES EXPAND THE MIND!!! Paint doesn't affect the performance nor will anyone see this when the motor is together. Keep in mind...paint thins and will eventually burn off from heat, fuel and combustion - contrary to what you think.... If you don't like my work or have nothing but negative things to say...you don't have to comment. I have posted a few picks in a couple thread...BUT!!! since you aren't really keen on what I have to show or explain...it REALLY doesn't matter does it????:D
