    convertible window rattle

My drivers side window in an 88 vert rattles while driving. Is there a way to adjust it to stop the rattle? Could i be missing a rubber piece to hold the window tight in place when rolled up? Is there an adjustment?

You can adjust the window; you will need to take the inner panel off to have room. I believe there are 2 10mm nuts you can adjust the pitch in or out as well as forward or backward in behind and below the rubber weather strip. To remove the inner panel you have to drop the lid back in the down position in order to remove it. pull the speaker cover; disconnect the speaker; two screws hold the panel to the body; remove the door weather strip by pulling it back. You won't need to take the panel completely out; just lift and slide forward towards the front of the car, enough to give you access to the channel where the rubber weather seals cover. This will allow a wrench to drop down in to adjust. Once you make the adjustments put the roof back up and drive it around before replacing the panel. make sure nothing else is loose. In that case you would need to remove the plastic panel down by the heel of the rear panel to expose the seat belt bolt. A 17mm is required to remove it. Once you get that free you can slip the seat belt buckle through the slot in order to free the panel from the car.I believe there are two more nuts further below that are accessible from behind the panel. in this case you may need to remove the panel entirely. there is room for an extension as the body has a cut out to slide an extension through in order to remove them. They are responsible for holding the window assembly in place. they might be loose. Simply re-install everything in reverse order.

Thanks Ceeker, I'll give it a shot. However, I thought the rattle was coming from the front drivers window. I should have been specific as to where i thought the noise was coming from.
