I paid $100 delivered. I put it in myself b/c I had to replace the gasket and clean it up a bit. It was dirt cheap.

Hey, can you for sure source me one? I'm going to try to get into Cincy a little earlier this Friday so I could get into my GFs house, grab the 318is, and then meet you for the windshield swap. I don't want any reason to fail the tech at CenDiv. Would this be ok?

If you're free, just tell me how much I owe you for the parts and I'll bring the car over to get it all working. I'll bring a case of (your choise) of beer or I'll take you for some grub for your help. :)

Friday after 5:30 would work. I'll let you know what the windshield costs once I find one. As for beer, I like Warsteiner or Shiner Bock. 12 of either would be great! Are the lockstrip and gaskets in decent shape?

I'd like to say yes, as I don't recall anything outside being particularly destroyed around the windshield, just a huge crack along its entire length. I'll call the GF today to check things out for sure.

Thanks Dave! You're a lifesaver. Beer aquisition will occur this evening. :)

i got my windshield for $35cdn (used) no chips or scratches.....i'm getting it installed when i get my paint and body done since the shop will be removing everything. they quoted me $2500cdn for all body repair, new rust free sunroof (which i need to provide), new rust free trunk (which i need to provide) and locking strips which i need to get also for the front and back, and a full respray with all trim, windows, door locks and handles removed. i think thats a good price no?

Make sure you let us know how Cendiv went. You probably shaved a couple tenths off your time now that you can see!!!!

also, try and see if your insurance will replace your windsheild...(if you have and cracks) sometimes you just pay a deductable and they do it for you.

we had the windsheild replaced on my brother's 325e for $100 deductable. BMP sent us a lock strip (yeah, it's the silver one, but what's a can of sem paint cost...) and the company replaced the seal as well. if we didn't use insurance, it would have been right around $300 with the new seal, installed, in my driveway

i dont think $100 deductibles exist in CA... at least not that ive ever heard of. even older ppl i know only have $500 deductibles...

In Florida, if your windshield is cracked, state law requires the insurance to pay for a new windshield without it affecting your rate.

My pitted windshield often annoys me, especially when the sun is pointing straight through it, as all the little pits scatter the light. I guess I just have to wait until I get a stone crack in it.

Does anyone know it the insurance will cover the lock strip being talked about???
