Early euro bumper and '87 front spoiler

I have an '87 and was wondering if the lower spoiler can be retained if I swapped the diving boards for European bumpers. I have seen many pictures but never of a car with the '87 lower spoiler.

Not without a lot of work and chopping of the spoiler. The 87 iS air damn sticks out way too far compared to the Euro bumper.

I see, now I understand why none of the euro bumpers had the spoiler.
