e28 mirrors on an e30

Hi all, my pass. side mirror is busted. I found a local guy parting an e28, and was wondering if it's side view mirror would fit the e30 door? They look identical, along with the e34 mirrors. If no one knows for sure, Ill eventually just take mine off and hold them up to each other, but it would be nice to have a confirmation before hand.

I have an e28 mirror that I used for replacement parts and while I have never tried to bolt it up, I am almost certain that it wouldnt work too well.
