    Removing Side Molding

I am looking to remove my side moldings to either re-dye them or put new ones on. Has anyone removed these before and have tips/advice? I know that they seem to be held on by plastic brackets or something, but I have no idea how to start peeling them off... I gave it a quick try last night, they don't budge a bit.

    Any help is much appreciated.

Remove the retaining nut, pull the trim up slightly, and pull. They slide back off the guides easily.

There's a nut in the door, and one in the wheel well for the rear 2 pieces. Then they will pull off. The front portion just pops off.

Do I have to remove the interior panel to get the one in the door?

        Thanks for the responses.

Follow the molding to the edge of the door, and the screw/nut is on the tip of it on the inside of the door. Remove that first, then facing the door molding, pull to your 3o'clock sideways. It slides off.

          You won't break anything.

Nope. It's right at the edge of the door below the latch assembly.

I was able to remove the molding that runs along the door with no problems, however I cant seem to find the nut/screw in the rear wheel well & the fonts wont budge a bit... Is a plastic pry tool needed to remove the front and rear moldings?

you can also remove the mirror piece itself once out for a cleaner paint job, or just tape it up. I have seen guys replace the drivers side mirror with ppassenger to remove the etched in "objects appear closer" stuff as well.
