I'd look in the door and see when it was made, that does not sound right, they are not going to throw old parts on a new car.

here's my US filler plate, I prefer it to the euro. yes you can see silver on the right side, but thats only at that particular angle.

mine was made in the 90s i believe. i was pretty pissed off about it. id much rather have the new valences and bumpers.

Yeah, check the build date. All built from 6/90 on have the plastic bumpers. If you have the 'boards, if must be a 1990 model.
