M-tec II or other body kit replicas?

who would be interested in muying complete M-tec II replicas made from thick fiberglass for around 600-700?

I have a friend that can make kits and replicate almost anything. I am considering manufacturing some kits, but I want to see how many people actually want to get some.

The kits would be prepped and ready to be painted.

Also, anyone interested in teh AV3 kit? pieces of it or entire kits...

I basically need at least 5 people to be committed to buying any one thing (whether a complete kit or a pair of sideskirts) before I will be able to break even. so just let me know.

I've yet to see a replica M-Technic II kit that fit worth a damn. Somehow I doubt your friend is going to provide us with any surprizes, and produce a well fitted one for less then the cost of "decent" replicas already in production.

I hope you arent talking about the guy in Northridge that is churning out crappy reproductions.

Tell your friend to fuck kits, and make a full CF sunroof panel that uses the stock mounting points.

You prove to me that it is excellent fit, identical to stock, and I'm on it.

But, your friend better do a damn good job :-)

Will never ever happen.... the originals are off of an original machined die. The copies as you will have done are off of a "made" part. fiberglass shrinks from the time it is layed out to the time it is curred 100%. you part will be anywhere from 3-10% smaller than the original and this is why the reproductions fit like shit. Also the originals have a tollerance specification of usually 2mm+- and if yours is the small end of the spec you are screwed even more. You can make good reproduction race parts but not street/show parts. The boards will kill you. Just search for the bmpd.com front bumper spoiler and see what the internet can do about killing your sales. The time will be better spent creating a new kit that meet the needs of the current market. This way you can build the plug slightly oversize to accomidate the tendancy of fiberglass. And If nothing else sell 5-6 kits right away for them being different. No one that has made copies since 1990 has been profitable. the Av3 kit etc. sells because they created something that did not exist.
