    Exterior window seal

I recently acquired a rubber exterior driver's window seal for my '91 coupe and am wondering if anybody has any DIY links or tips for replacing this seal? It's the one that runs parallel to the ground on the outside of the window. Mine isn't destroyed, but it does have some bits that look almost chewed away so I thought I'd toss the replacement in.

    Thanks!

Remove the mirror, pull up gently on the aluminum strip as so not to kink/bend it, then remove the rubber piece. Remove the clips from the old rubber piece, put it on the new one and install is removal backwards.

Excellent. I'll give it a go and post the results.

I would use some plastic trim removal tools to remove the metal/chrome outer trim piece. If you have a harbor freight near you it should be there or any body shop supply house. You can either start at the end where the door handle is and slowly inch it up a little at a time or inch the whole thing up a bit at a time by starting at one end and working your way down to the mirror. Both have worked for me. Be vary careful not to bend it, almost impossible to straighten.

Yeah I'm realizing now that I'll need some plastic trim tools.. I tried using a flat screwdriver yesterday but trying to keep a buffer between the shaft and the paint is more trouble than it's worth.
