    Fitting Breyton front bar

Ok, so I got off my arse today and decided to trial fit some of the Breyton bodykit bits for my car.

The skirts snap on really nicely and fit super-snug. If anything, they're a little tight, but meh, at least they're not flapping all over the place.

The front bar provided some head scratching moments. I tried to do that smart thing and search on here for tips on trial-fitting it before I posted a thread like this. However, though I studied the wise words of Shakey and the Breyton-fronted exploits with his long-gone black beastie I could not get my front bar to line up: it is just too tight.

From what Jake was saying, the whole valance just pops over the existing late-model valance, while the fogs are bolted to the new Breyton spoiler. However, on mine, the kit is waaay to tight to do that and doesn't wanna clip "under" the lip of the bumper bar.

Any suggestions or tips before I go the whole hog and remove the bumper and original valance?

Ran out of time to do the rear bar, (read: mates came over and we've been talking shit and drinking beer since then) but I'll be tackling that tomorrow arvo...

    Pics then ;)

Im gonna try to help. Mainly because my post count is at 666 and I need that gone. lol

I have a breyton front but mine is fitted to an early model car. Im guessing you had the bumper off while doing this right? My foglights are indeed bolted to the spoiler itself with an adhesive running around the edges to keep them in place. You wont be able to fit it if you have a lip on your valance of any sort. Worst comes to worst you would need to remove the valance all together as well as the front bumper. I hope this helps some. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I would be more than happy to help.

Hey Iain, front and rear bars have to come off to fit the front and rears, when the bars are off they then clip over the original valances. They will be tight so you might need to file out a few spots here and there, email me at my skylineownersarewierdos at hottest of mail

Shakey Jake should be able to answer your questions about that Breyton front, he had it on his very missed Diamantschwarz car. I dunno if he still has it, I recall he removed it before the crash.

        Shakey, where are ya?

take the bumpers off and then the breyton kit just sits over the orig valances.

like glenn said, it is a very tight fit, and may require some filing etc to make it slide on.

as for me? after all other types of levering and trying to coax it on ... bring on the beer power and brute force. In my circle, that kit is forever knoow as the lego kit, cos in the end, it just snaps on to the car.

i never even bothered securing it to the car properly. the tightness of the fit, combined with the fact that the bumper 'locks' it on when they are bolted up, it wont be going anywhere anytime soon.

good luck getting it off too, i think mine ended up with a small crack after removing it.
