I'm getting my car painted and I'd like to replace the chromed aluminum window trim with new if possible. Anyone know a source who might still have it in stock?

Are you referring to the locking strip trim on the front and rear windows, or the side window trim?Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

seems like a alot of work to replace all chrome trim. Chrome looks great when new, but all oxydized is lts awful. Today everything was taped off and trim was shot in matt black. DO IT RIGHT or eventually youll do it again and looks like shit in between. Self eching primer and 2000 grit paper go a long way. +1 on blackoutThe day I bought my e30, was the day I became sophisticated and classy as fuck.

Thanks guys. I'll call Blunt Tech. Ideally I'd get new chrome trim. I like the look, but its seems NLA. Everyone says shadow line is the only stuff still in stock, but I can't find any of that either. What I don't want to do is mess up the perfect (albeit clouded) chrome trying to get it off.
I know it's anodized, but I wonder if I could leave it on and polish through the anodizing and to clean aluminum and then get a good shine out of that?

I don't know how popular this idea is going to be... but you could take it off and have it re-chromed if you really like the look. I looked into it and it is not that expensive, but I ended up just going black so.
