So i been hearing a lot of terms used for the e30 front bumpers. Here's my story. My driver side front bumper was hit and the foglight is gone. The foglight part is dented, so my buddy and i tried to fix it up. But since i m looking to get a new paint job, i m thinking to replace the front bumper. But i m not sure if it's necessary to replace the whole bumper. As you can see in the pics, i m just looking for the part where the foglight goes to. Is that what they call the e30 "front bumper valence"? also, what is "e30 front volvo bumper"? Sorry if i m using the wrong terms...
Teach me about e30 front bumper?

Yeah, the metal part under the actual bumper is called the front valence. You have one from a late model e30 (88+). Under that there would be the front lip. E30s came with either the I lip or Is lip. But a lip from an old Volvo will fit, kind of flared out look. The metal valence is removable after you get the plastic bumper off, very easy! Hope that helps! -
it doesn't appear you need to replace that valence it just may be in need of some massaging where its dented. I really can't see much of anything other than the fog assembly being gone. I would recommend you stay away from the Volvo idea just get yourself a OE "IS lip" and don't look back. If whatever is wrong with your valence bugs you now the Volvo lip thing will bug you then as its not a perfect fit. IMO
you are also missing your brake duct which is just beside the fog.Comment
