    IS lip

    Hi.

I've been in the market for a used IS lip, and had a hard time finding one.
And being a cheepo for buying an OEM one for $110-125.

Was wondering if any any of you had any experience with ebay ones.

I would apreciate any input, especially from those that have actually done it.

    Cheers.

You want to swap a cheap aftermarket for a grand savings of 30.00? Ebay pictures always show the item perfect...says it bolts on. When iS lips clip on...hmmm

It might be worth a shot, but that aftermarket ebay stuff is a hit or a miss.

This is R3v, home if the baggy pant broke ass kids. I am sure some Cali moron has one on his chopped stock spring e30 lol.

Buy the factory one , fits right the first time.. Used one are hit and miss, alot of those used spoiler are broken were they mount with the clips. I had the stock IS spoiler on my 88 325is and also the standard 325i black lip (for winter months) Don't forget you'll have to paint the most IS spoiler. The factory ones come in a grey e-coat, prep and paint additional ! Save you $$$$ and buy a factory, you will be alot happier !
          it's just a ETA !

considering that you can literally run over an OEM one and not break it, its worth a little more investment the first time so when you do hit something like a stray box or ice chunk you wont have to buy another one.

              my car wrecked at 65mph:

walked over on the side of the freeway, pick up the oem IS lip and sold it online it basically perfect shape: not even a broken mounting tab.

                  OEM or bust

The crappy aftermarket ones are made out of horrible FRP/ABS. The OEM one is made by BMW's special blend of Plastic and is 100 times stronger

There is already a thread about this topic. But don't buy ebay lips, I have one and I already broke it in 4 places. All I had to do was simply pull too close to a parking spot cinder block and BAM. OEM lips are more flexible and won't break easily.

I've heard someone (maybe you) equate it to a plastic fork. My IS lips took quite a beating when it was 2" from the ground and while the paint is chipped and there are some scrapes, it's structurally fine.

My brother just bought the eBay one after I repeatedly told him to just buy the oem and not surprisingly I was right. The eBay one didn't fit and was cheap hard plastic. Bmw knew these lips were going to get thrashed so they made theirs so it would have some give
