    Badges

I did my rookie due-diligence and searched this and couldn't really find anything before I started a thread, so uh pat on the back for me. I feel like most already know this, but if I can save another sorry noob I'll feel accomplished.

On Ebay and Amazon there are a million different colors and types of badges you can replace your OEM ones with. Literally one of the cheapest quick little upgrades you can get. When I picked up my Carbon Fiber ones last week, I also ordered the "grommets" that are also advertised with it. These are the little plastic/rubber devices that ensure you get a good seal. Maybe I'm special, but my 318iS didn't need them. By didn't need them I mean, it was an utter waste of money to buy them because they don't fit.

    Anybody else run into this?

Badges? We don't need no stinkin'....sorry.

Anyway, what do you mean they didn't fit? Did you remove the old grommets first? I've never needed to on any of the cars I've worked on. Were they OEM?

Wow totally got homesick there for a second, that's was an old "shit my dad said" moment!

When I removed the old emblems there weren't any grommets, but I figured maybe they'd been replaced before and the PO hadn't gotten new ones. I bought the grommets, put them in the holes, but the stems of the badges were too long so it was about 5mm from being flush with the hood.

Hmm. That may just be a result of a non-OEM roundel.
