      So it locks ok when the top is up then? If so it's not the latch, seems like you may not be folding the top down correctly. If the top is old, then the elastic straps are likely shot, and the top will need to be tucked in as you fold it down, or else the tonneau won't close because the top is too bulky. Pics would help...

                  There is a seperate motor for the deck lid that lifts it up out of the way, closes it after the top is raised or lowered, AND engages the locks on either side via the swivel piece in middle of the back of the roof storage compartment, that the two cables are attached to.

                      And no, the lid doesn't lock down fine when the roof is up, the rear roof hoop is holding down.

                      You can get the top to be semi powered, with the lid powered, but the top manual. That's if, you just have a top motor failure.

                              A working power top is nice, but a semi powered top is very nice IMO.
