Ok so I am trying to convert my electric windows into a manual crank based system. I bought the manual window set up from another forum member and they came in just fine used condition. I swapped over the passenger side just fine. old came out new went in and works fine. The drive side is the current issue. Instead of a s-shaped track based electric system like the passenger the driver side looks more like an e36 scissor type system. The window is also different then the passenger and the bottom is straight across and the track mounts are in the wrong spot. Were there two different type of regulators and windows for the two door e30 or did the PO do some type of conversion on the driver side. I'm guessing the only way to go about this is get a different diver window that is compatible with the manual s-shaped system. I'll make a wanted thread for a window because I think that's the only option I got but I was just looking for a little information too. THanks

You had an early-model setup on the passenger side and a late-model setup on the driver's side. The windows have different attachment points, so you'll have to get a window from an early model 2-door.Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one? 1988 was the transition year, with some parts from early models and some from late models. Just put up a want ad for an early model setup and you'll be good to go.Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one? Info, photos, videos, and more can be found at www.michaelsvintageracing.com!
