Installing Moonroof Wind Breaker thing

I took the windbreaker deal off my 84 318i and attempted to put it on my 90 325is however the slit that was on the 318i is missing on the 325is. I'm thinking it was made? But the pieces that connect to the car were meant to be slid into a slit. Does anyone know what I am talking about or do I need some pictures? Thanks

I just called BMW and they said the slit is there, it's there on all BMWs. He stated I would have to scrape that area until I see it...? It looked soldered/welded together to me. I guess I'll razor blade or flat-head the area? Any input?
