Convertible Lid Won't Latch When Top is Down

When the top is down the lid won't sit flush with the car. The motor still lifts the lid up and down but I do have to manually lower/lift the top. I've made sure to fold the top meticulously but it still won't latch completely and sit flush with the car. There is about a .5" to 1" gap between lid and the quarter panel. Any
thoughts?

are the side clamps pulling down the hooks on the lid?

Mine does the exact same thing lol my top wouldn't go up and I think I bent it putting it up manually. Not sure at all though.
