The internet was not always around. When you try and research items of this vintage, the chance of everything being documented about that time online is slim. There once was a time without social media.
I never understood it. the hell is the point of a fake antenna?

At one time it was a status symbol to have a car phone. The fake antenna made it seem that you were in that rarefied air of car phone owners. Not every one had a cell phone as they were big, bulky and expensive.

It's a cell phone antenna. The prior owner of my 318is had the dealer install one of those brick size cell phones(hard wired into the car) along with the cell phone antenna installed through the rear glass. I would like to remove it but I am afraid of screwing up the removal and causing a leak or cracking the glass.
