    Wheel Corrosian/Rust Removal

Hi there, having an issue in regards to my left front wheel as my brake calipers are worn at it is causing corrosion on my wheel, creating a nice layer of Rust and other oxidization.

I believe my wheels are aluminium so they aren't rusting themselves but its just corroding.

I've seen multiple forums saying ways to do it but nothing really worked, some people used Tinfoil and coke to remove rust? but im not game enough to Aliminium tin foil on my rim?

If anyone could shed some light on this that would be awesome

    Cheers

    Connor

It's not just brake dust, right? Could just be pitting in the aluminum. What wheels are they?

are you sure it's not brake dust.. it's only doing it on one wheel ? caliper hanging up and chewing up the brake pads and rotor...Have you taken the wheel off and inspected the caliper and rotor... maybe check the wheel bearing /hub assy for any play... that same film is the valve stem also by looking at the picture you posted... what wheels they are doesn't have anything to do with the issue of what is coating the wheel... pull the wheel off and look around.. I'm sure you'll find the problem .
      it's just a ETA !

it does if the wheels are aluminum or steel.

did you look at the pictures ? there aluminum rims. And only one wheel is affected he is saying... I'm sure there is some issue happening there.."having an issue in regards to my left front wheel as my brake calipers are worn at it is causing corrosion on my wheel"...I'm sure it's brake related... hopefully Connor will chime in and let us know what he finds
