Euro Plate Fillers for pre-facelift tails. Part # inside.

I spent half a day earlier this week looking up searches on R3V, e30tech, and Bimmerforums on the Euro plate fillers for the pre-facelift "small" tailight cars. Nobody seemed to be able to agree on the same info, so I took the info I got from many sources and placed an order. Here is 100% correct info for the small tailight cars...

Part # 51 13 1 888 463 ($56.36 Real OEM price) is the Euro plate filler look that fits US plate cars. Four holes for the four white mounts for the US style plates. Pictured on bottom.

Part # 51 13 1 888 450 ($30.97 Real OEM price) is the EXACT SAME size and style plate, only with two holes for the Euro style plates. Pictured on top.

Amazing the price difference for nothing more that two extra holes! Hope this helps. There are different part #'s for the bigger tailight cars, those seem to be easier to find.

Does a typical US-issued license plate totally cover the 2 wider-spaced holes in the Euro filler?

Yes, it does cover the holes.

^ I second that. It even covers the holes on the Italian license plates. My euro vert was basically swiss cheese back there with holes for the German, Italian, and US license plates.

I used a plate filler to cover it up.

Yes, there is a later model US & Euro filler plate, with different part #s. I saw a post in this section with all the numbers last night when I was searching for the info. Easy to find via "search."

I took off my plate filler today, to find that the plate filler has the european hole style with U.S. holes drilled in after. Looks like someone saved 20 bucks in my car's past life :)

There is a US Spec filler as I'm sure you know, but they look very different than the Euro filler ones. Now the Euro spec plate filler with US holes, that I've never seen.

I highly doubt that there is a pricing difference between the two versions.

RealOEM probably updated one pricing but not the other.
