I decided to take off the front license plate... what to do about screw holes?

Talking about the holes left over from the screws that held the plate in place? My car is black. I've seen some cars with a plastic insert that says "BMW" on it. Where do I get that, and how much? What other options do I have? Can I find small black plastic plugs that go into those holes? I'd like a Euro plate, but I don't want to risk a ticket or even getting pulled over by the local popo.

    Thanks.

just an idea, go to napa or autozone, and look for interior trim plugs, there has to be some that will fit those holes.

Since you are taking off your front plate, I can assume that there are no laws in your state saying you need a front plate. That being said, you can run a europlate with no problems at all. They don't care if it's there or not. Hell, you could bolt a 3ft square plate to the front of your car and they wouldn't care (assuming it wasn't a safety issue, which in this example it would be :) )

ACtually, it is mandatory to have a front plate in CA, but I see lots of cars with no plate that don't have problems. However, a Euro plate stands out so much more than no plate, that I suspect that you're much more likely to get a ticket or pulled over for that than if you drive with nothing in the front.

Thanks for the tip on where to find the plate filler.

I haven't run a front plate on any of my cars, never had any problems so far.

As mentioned, the plate filler would probably be the best choice.

So I resorted to using black electrical tape. It looks pretty good if you're standing 10+ feet away, but up close, it's pretty ghetto. Someone suggested that I should just color the nut/screwhole with a black Sharpie.

I used plastic filler and touch up paint to get rid of the screw holes on my VW when I did a front plate delete.

oh god. i can think of a million other things before my mind would even think about bringing up the idea of using tape.

Whew, never had to deal with holes on my jetta, bought it in Ga! Still have no front plate in Ca. Still rocking a Ga tag on the e30.
I agrre that the euro plate would attract iunwanted attention though.
