This is why I love this site. So many random tidbits of information haha thank guys! I'll be ordering this along with a new sunroof seal. Gave the car a wash the other day and there was a lot of condensation in the car.

the secret is to remove the ring #13 before removing the old seal and replacing it after the new seal is in. Lube makes them hard to handle but a little water based lube in the groove does help. I use a small screw driver and VERY carefully work the damper groove to the cowl.

Max 10min/side start to finish and will spare your wipers the added stress from wobbling due to rotted dampers

(its actually fairly soft rubber) yes - though mine was somewhat of a bitch to install.
maybe lube it a bit with some KY beforehand!

Both of these are the solution. #14 is the "wiper damper" (its actually fairly soft rubber). I took 20 of them to a gathering and did a tech session on replacing them since not many owners even know they exist. Sold all 20 and could have sold more

See picture here for the bolt I'm talking about:

    Windshield Wiper Gap on Cowl

I have no idea how to describe this, but my wiper arm is basically lifted from the cowl.

It has enough play in it that I can press it back down to the metal.

Any way to fix this so rust doesn't start building up in there?
Working...
